If Water Is Going Where It Shouldn't, That's an Emergency
Burst pipe. Sewage backing up into your tub. No hot water in January. Flooding under the sink that won't stop. Active leak near your electrical panel. These are all situations where waiting a few days for an appointment makes the damage significantly worse.
I also take calls for things that feel urgent even if they're not flooding the house: a toilet that won't stop running, a water heater that died overnight, a leaking pipe behind the wall you just noticed. If it's keeping you up at night, call me.
I cover Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Upper Northwest DC, and surrounding neighborhoods. If you're in one of those areas, I can usually get to you the same day.

Mike Answers the Phone. Really.
No Answering Service. No Voicemail Black Hole. Just Me.
I'll say it again because it's that important: I answer my phone. Seven days a week, 7am to 9pm. When you call (202) 555-0147, you get me, not a call center in another state.

When you're dealing with a plumbing emergency, the last thing you need is to leave a message and wonder if anyone's coming. You need to talk to someone who can tell you right now how fast they can be there and what to do in the meantime.

I've been doing this work in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Northwest DC for six years. I know these neighborhoods. I know the older homes near the Cathedral with galvanized pipes that fail in winter. I know the townhomes in Chevy Chase where the main shutoff is buried in a weird spot. Proximity matters in an emergency. I'm not driving in from an hour away.

Where I Respond Fast
My fastest response times are in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Tenleytown, Cleveland Park, Friendship Heights, American University Park, and the neighborhoods around upper Connecticut and Wisconsin Avenues. If you're in one of these areas and you call me right now, I can usually tell you within minutes when I'll be there.
I also serve other parts of Northwest DC and close-in Maryland. If you're not sure whether I cover your street, just call. I'd rather tell you quickly than have you waste time.
- Plumbing rough-in and pipe relocation
- Drain line work and rerouting
- Toilet installation
- Faucet and valve installation
- Water damage assessment
After the rough-in is done and inspected, my partners handle the tile, drywall, and finish work. Then I come back to install the fixtures -- faucets, showerheads, toilets, sinks. The last thing I do is test everything and make sure there are no leaks. You get a finished bathroom that works and looks the way you wanted it to.
What to Do While You Wait
Steps to Take Right Now
First: shut off the water. If it's a single fixture leaking, there's usually a shutoff valve right under the sink or behind the toilet. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If the leak is bigger or you can't find the fixture shutoff, go to your main shutoff and turn off the whole house. In most DC and Bethesda homes it's in the basement or utility room near where the water line enters the building.
Second: stay away from standing water if there's any chance it's near electrical outlets, panels, or appliances. Don't assume it's safe. If water is close to anything electrical, don't wade through it.
Third: if sewage is involved, don't run any water in the house. Don't flush, don't run the sink. It will make the backup worse. Open windows if you can and keep people out of the affected area.
Then call me. Once you've done what you can to stop the spread, I want to know what you're dealing with so I can come prepared with the right parts.
